How to Limit User Access by Work Location / Establishment
One of your first steps after purchasing an account is to add authorized users to that account.
Important items to note regarding user access:
User access is granted at the account level
Each account may have an unlimited number of work
When you grant
If you have multiple establishments, you can limit a user’s access to a single establishment or establishment group by purchasing an account license for each establishment or establishment group.
Example 1: Limiting User Access to Work Location / Establishment Groups
Brandy Industries has three regions, East, Central, and West. Each region has multiple establishments.
Brandy would like the management team in each region to have access to safety records for all establishments in their region. However, they do not want them to have access to safety records for the other regions.
To make this happen, Brandy will:
Purchase three account licenses — one for each region.
Grant the East Region management team access to the East Region account, the Central Region management team access to the Central Region Account, etc.
Create all establishments necessary in the East, Central, and West accounts.
NOTE: Brandy would also like the corporate safety manager to have access to all safety records for all establishments in all regions. To make this happen … the system admin in each region will grant the corporate safety manager access to their regional account.
Example 2: Limiting User Access to a Specific Work Location / Establishment
Big Time Builders has two establishments, Canal Street and Lakeview
BTB would like the Canal Street management team to have access to safety records for Canal Street, but not Lakeview, and vice versa.
To make this happen, BTB will:
Purchase two account licenses — one for Canal Street and one for Lakeview.
Grant the Canal Street management team access to the Canal Street account and the Lakeview management team access to the Lakeview account.
NOTE: BTB can still give Canal Street user access to the Lakeview street account. If a Lakeview account admin grants a Canal access user to their account, the Canal user will have access to both accounts.
Example 3: Providing User Access to All Work Locations / Establishments Created Under an Account
Good Earth Recyclers, Inc. has nine establishments.
Good Earth would like its management team to have access to all safety records for all nine establishments.
To make this happen, Good Earth will:
Purchase one account license.
Grant the Good Earth management team access to that account.
Create nine establishments under that account
